Key ingredients include Juniper, Coriander, Black Pepper, Cumin, Clove, Cardamom, Angelica Root, Sichuan Pepper, Cinnamon, Lavender, Almond, Orris Root, Apple Blossom, Frankincense, Licorice Root, Nutmeg, Lemon Peel, Honeysuckle, Vanilla Bean, and Grapefruit Citrus.

This unique blend reflects the essence of Chongming Island, offering a distinctive taste that embodies the spirit of Julu Gin and Shanghai Gin.

Julu Gin's distillery, is located in the western part of Chongming Island, Shanghai, China. Here, we produce two distinctive flavors in small batches, which are bottled on-site. Our custom-made copper still is exclusively used to distill Julu Gin.

Balanced and flavorful, our Shanghai Gin is meticulously crafted and distilled five times in our copper still on the scenic Chongming Island. Julu Gin features over 18 botanicals, bringing together the finest ingredients from both China and around the globe. It proudly stands as the only gin distilled in Shanghai.

Julu Dry Gin, is a masterfully crafted expression of China’s rich botanical heritage. Carefully distilled in small batches, our dry gin brings together a harmonious blend of 18 meticulously selected botanicals and bold Chinese spices, resulting in a spirit that is both vibrant and complex .

Julu Silk Road Gin, draws inspiration from the legendary Silk Road. This bold and aromatic gin is a journey through spice, citrus, and delicate florals. Crafted in small batches, it blends traditional gin botanicals with exotic ingredients like Madagascar vanilla and Sichuan pepper, creating a luxuriously smooth yet vibrantly spiced spirit.

This remarkable spirit shines both when enjoyed neat and when mixed into cocktails.

About Us 品牌故事

Julu Gin was born in the small garden of an old lane house on Julu Road in Shanghai, inspired by a desire for a flavorful gin that showcases China’s rich array of botanicals and spices while honoring the traditional juniper flavor. This exceptional craft gin reflects our commitment to local heritage and innovation.

In 2022, we launched our first small batch of Julu Gin on Chongming Island, our ancestral family home. Through experimentation with a unique blend of dark spices, vibrant citrus, and delicate florals, we crafted two main varieties: Julu Dry Gin and Julu Silk Road Gin. Both of these Shanghai gin varieties are distilled in small batches using a custom-built copper still.

Committed to creating an authentically local product, our recipes draw on Chinese culture and its long-standing tradition of blending spices and herbs into cuisine and aromatics. The creative visuals of our brand are inspired by traditional Jinshan folk art. Both gins have received accolades at prestigious global competitions, including the IWSC, LSC, SFWSC, and HKIWSC.

Since our launch, we have been delighted to share Julu Gin with enthusiasts at pop-up events, food and drink festivals, and private gatherings, celebrating the joy of gin in every sip.
